Water Tanks
One of the keys to good resource management is learning to conserve resources when they are plentiful so they will be available when they are not.  RDI has been promoting rainwater harvesting during Cambodia's wet season by directing runoff from roofs to covered storage tanks via a system of gutters.  These tanks then store that water that would otherwise evaporate or grow stagnate in standing ponds, keeping it in ready reserve for the dry season.  Large tanks are placed on the grounds of schools and smaller ball tanks are used for single family applications.

Drinking Stations
In conjunction with the large cylindrical tanks located at public schools, RDI builds drinking stations to dispense the water from the tanks.  These stations are available for use by the community surrounding the school and, because all the water is filtered through RDI clay pot water filters, the parasites and microbial contaminants that are found in nearby surface water will be absent.
